Webinars As Part Of Your Marketing Plan

s are one of the latest and greatest ways to build interest and (hopefully) enthusiasm among your marketing prospects. A webinar, short for “web-based seminar,” is different from a webcast in that it allows for give-and-take interaction between a presenter and the audience. It can be used not only to attract brand new sales leads, but to nurture relationships with on your list and bring you a few steps closer to a deal.

When deciding if you want to use a webinar, it’s best to begin by evaluating how it will fit into your . Webinars are most effective when utilized as part of an overall long-term , not as a stand-alone tool. In order to draw the most attendees, it should be focused on a topic specific to your industry or address ways to solve a specific problem. Avoid blatantly promoting a product or service when advertising your webinar. This will naturally turn off the prospects you’re aiming for, and reduce the number of attendees for future events.

To maximize results from your webinar, make your presentation as personalized as possible. Even if you are a smooth-talking presenter with more razzle-dazzle features than a fireworks display, the effort will be for naught if the needs of your audience are not met. Take time to find out exactly what information your attendees are looking for (just ask for input when they register), and plan ways to deliver it. This will also help you to be better prepared for your webinar’s question-and-answer session.

Follow-up is also key to using webinars in your marketing. Don’t forget to email prospects after your webinar is done with a recap of your topic and links to relevant information. You can also use this as an opportunity to collect feedback about future topics and to improve future presentations.

Three Ways Not To Make Money With Twitter

marketing is gaining in popularity. That makes sense. Twitter is huge, growing and provides a fantastic way of getting in touch with a lot of people quickly and easily.

Not everyone is doing it the right way, however. In fact, some people seem to be bending over backwards to make sure they don’t make a dime via Twitter. Here are three of their “methods” that anyone who’s interesting in turning a buck should ignore.

The automatic “thanks for following” message with an affiliate is a complete disaster. Those automatic direct messages are one of the most hated aspects of Twitter and only a handful of users will even bother to click on them.

The people who think that following a billion people is the best way to go because it can get them a ton of reciprocal followers just don’t get it. The magic of Twitter is its ability to help you find a targeted audience. The scattershot approach doesn’t pay off worth a hoot.

Pounding your followers with your links every ten minutes like clockwork? I bet you’re not too happy with your sales, are you? You have to understand the mindset of Twitter users and why that technique can’t get the best results.

Those are just three of the ways people are and not making money. There are others. If you don’t know what works and what fails, you need to learn more about Twitter.

Your Webinar Is Finished, Now What? The Importance Of Follow Up

The line clicks as people hang-up and you watch the list of online attendees shrink to just your name. You did it! You made it through your <a href="http://www.technorati.com/tag/” rel=”tag”>webinar. Can you sit back and relax? Well, yes, but don’t forget the webinar may be through, but you’ve still got some work to do.

First things first, you should thank everyone for coming. Send a quick email to your attendees with your gratitude. Tell them you’ll be looking forward to seeing them in the next webinar. This is also a good time to send the agenda, PowerPoint and other materials you have prepared for the next webinar.

The next step is to compile everything you covered during the meeting. Did someone take notes? Did you all work on a , or a spreadsheet? Were there any action items covered? This is a good time to look over and clean up the things you all worked on together. Once that’s done, send it out to the appropriate people.

It’s always a good idea to record your . You never know when someone has a great idea or goes over something that doesn’t make it into the notes. Aside from that, why not send out a copy of the webinar to all the attendees? It reinforces the importance of the meeting and will help them if they forgot to write something down.

Recordings of webinars don’t have to be just used internally. Put it on your website for all to enjoy. You can also make it available to valued customers, or even let people buy a download of it. Parts of the webinar can be used in reports, training courses or even future webinars.

The point is a webinar doesn’t disappear when everyone hangs up. When one webinar ends, it’s time to work on the next one. Thanking your participants, using the recorded webinar, and following through on the things you talked about will go a long way toward making your next webinar a success.
